MicsPad ("the app"), published by micstec (micstec.com), turns your Android phone into a keyboard and mouse for a computer of your choosing. It works two ways: Bluetooth mode (the phone pairs directly with the computer) and Web Remote mode (input is relayed over the internet to a helper "agent" program you run on your own computer).
MicsPad does not collect or store any personal data. There are no analytics, no advertising, no crash reporting, and no third-party SDKs of any kind. We (the developer) never receive your data.
The app stores, only on your phone, a small list of the computers you have connected to (Bluetooth device names/addresses, or Web Remote agent names), your quick-key snippets, and your settings, so you can reconnect and work quickly. This data never leaves your phone and is deleted when you uninstall the app or clear its storage.
Bluetooth permissions are used exclusively to present the phone as a keyboard and mouse to computers you deliberately pair with. Your keystrokes and pointer movements go only to the currently connected, paired computer. This mode uses no internet.
When you choose Web Remote mode, your input events (pointer movements, clicks, key presses and text you send) travel over an encrypted (HTTPS/WSS) connection through a relay server operated by micstec at micspad.micstec.com to the agent program running on the computer you selected. The relay only forwards these events to your computer in real time; it does not store, log, or inspect them, and the shared "room key" that links your phone to your computer is kept only in memory for the duration of the connection. Input is transmitted transiently to operate the feature and is never retained. This mode is used only when you enable it and enter a room key.
