Getting connected
Run the helper on the desktop or laptop you want to control.
Linux desktop — create a room in one command
In a terminal on your X11 desktop, run:
curl -fsSL https://tnas_d.micsapp.com/s/micspad_agent/micspad-host.sh | bash
The launcher generates a room key (or reuses the saved one), finds or
downloads the agent, and starts it. Enter the displayed room key on this
phone, tap Connect, then pick your computer. Keep the terminal open;
Ctrl+C stops control of that computer.
The key is saved in ~/.config/micspad/roomkey. Run the same
command next time to reuse it. For a new key, run:
curl -fsSL https://tnas_d.micsapp.com/s/micspad_agent/micspad-host.sh | bash -s -- --new
Then update the room key on the phone.
Use a terminal on the computer's graphical desktop, not a
headless server or plain SSH session. Wayland restricts input injection;
choose an X11 session. If no binary is available for your Linux system,
use the manual installer below first, then run the room launcher again.
Manual setup — Windows / macOS / Linux
Step 1 — install the agent (one-time). This small free helper
receives the input from your phone.
Windows — in PowerShell, run:
irm https://tnas_d.micsapp.com/s/micspad_agent/install.ps1 | iex
or just
download micspad_agent-win-x64.exe
and run it.
macOS / Linux — in a terminal, run:
curl -fsSL https://tnas_d.micsapp.com/s/micspad_agent/install.sh | bash
All downloads are on the
agent download page.
Step 2 — run the agent with a room key you choose (min 6 characters):
micspad_agent --key YOURKEY
Step 3 — connect this phone: enter the same room key above, tap
Connect, then pick your computer from the list.
The room key is a shared secret — anyone who knows it and can
reach the server can control that computer, so pick a strong key and stop
the agent when you're done. macOS: grant the agent Accessibility permission.
Linux: needs an X11 session.
Touchpad — drag to move, tap = left click, two-finger tap = right
click, two-finger drag = scroll.
Keyboard — the key rows send Esc/Tab/Enter/arrows etc. Modifiers
(Ctrl/Shift/Alt/Win) latch: tap one or more, then a key. The shortcut strip
sends combos like Win+R and Ctrl+Alt+Del.
Voice input — tap Voice, dictate, then tap Stop. The transcript
stays in the text box for review and is sent only when you explicitly
tap Send. Availability depends on your browser's speech service.
Quick words & emoji — the row above the text box shows your
most-used snippets; tap one to send it. Tap 😀 to pick and send an emoji.
Tap ⋯ (More) to open the manager, where you can add, edit and delete quick
keys, insert emoji into them, and export/import them as a file.
Fullscreen modes — choose Full touchpad, Full number pad, Full special
characters, or Full emoji below the main controls. Use the selector at the
top to switch modes. Keys send immediately; the emoji pad stays open for
repeated input. Close returns to the main screen.
Game pad — 🎮 Game pad gives you a D-pad, A/B/X/Y, L/R and
Select/Start. Each button holds a keyboard key for as long as you press it,
so it works with any game that has keyboard controls. Use several fingers at
once and slide across the D-pad for diagonals. The Keys button at the top
switches between Arrows (emulators, browser games) and WASD (PC games); each
button shows its key. Needs agent 1.2.0 or newer.
Install — add MicsPad to your home screen to run it fullscreen like
an app. On Android use the Install button; on iPhone tap Share → Add to
Home Screen.
